A couple of weeks ago, we submitted a plugin to the WordPress repository called the floating button WP plugin. This plugin, allows users to create a floating button which is placed on the lower right side of the screen for desktops, and is fixed to the bottom of the screen for smaller devices like ipads and phones.
The basic purpose of the plugin is to be able to show and hide an element. We conveniently created a sidebar, which can be populated with any widget you would like revealed, when the button is clicked.
For example, if you had a big form, that you didn’t ideally want taking up too much real estate on your website, you could use this plugin to hide it, and make it visible on a click.
